Art Committee Forming -- We Need You!
In
an effort to continue encouraging and improving education
in the arts for our learners at SCVi, a new Art Committee will be
forming to
build on the foundation laid this year. One does not need to be
artistic to serve on this committee. If you like the art on the school
walls
produced by your children, or if your child comes home and tells you
how much
fun he/she had in art, you are qualified and encouraged to participate
on this
committee.
The goal of the Art Committee is to provide learners with
more choices and exposure to the arts at SCVi. The items that the committee will be tackling for the upcoming school
year include:
-
The
structure of the classroom arts instruction
-
Fundraising/donations/grants
-
CAT
coordination
-
Special
programs, such as special speakers, highlighting student artists, a
school-wide art project, and an art open house.
The Art Committee will begin meeting this school year to
begin planning and organizing for the 2010-11 school year. Early planning will allow the art programs
for next year to hit the ground running in September and operate smoothly.
If you want to be involved in furthering the art program at
SCVi, please join the Art Committee. You can contact Kim
Adam at kim.adam@scvcharterschool.org.
Remember: this is a great way to get involved and complete
your volunteer hours.
