Grades 4-9th

All Experience Levels Welcome!!!

It's time for the SCVi First LEGO League (FLL) Fall Season! Together we'll work to create teams, design and program NXT robots and compete against other FLL teams!

This season's challenge is "Food Factor."  Teams will explore the topic of food safety and examine the possible points of contamination our food encounters – from exposure to insects and creatures, to unsterile processing and transportation, to unsanitary preparation and storage – then find ways to prevent or combat these contaminates.

In the Food Factor Challenge, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT to solve a set of Food Safety missions as well as research, develop, and share their innovative food safety solutions.

Do you have skills and knowledge that you feel would be helpful to our robotics teams? We're always looking for mentors interested in sharing knowledge, new ideas and real world connections. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please contact the Lego Coaches at lego.robotics@scvcharterschool.org

Grades 1st - 3rd

Parent Informational Meeting Wednesday, October 5th at 3:30

Can Junior FIRST LEGO League teams master the science of safely preparing food?

SCVi Learners will take a "hands on" approach to the topic of food safety by exploring how proper preparation and storage can help keep us healthy.

Teams will learn about simple machines as they build a model made of LEGO elements with a motorized moving part, and will create a team Show-Me Poster to represent their Snack Attack findings.

Volunteers Needed
We are in need of an Administrative/Accounting leader as well as assistant coaches for our weekly meetings and Legoland presentation.
