K-12 Tuition Free Public School

Lunch Program

A BIG thank you to Dawn Walker for coordinating this entirely volunteer effort. Our students are eating healthfully and inexpensively, and the credit goes to Dawn. Nice job!

Dawn Walker is a proud SCVi Parent and local chef who provides affordable, fresh and frozen meals for busy families. Check out her Web site: chefdawn.com.

We need help supervising the students at lunch time. Please contact the CAT team at lunch@scvcharterschool.org if you can be there from 11:30-1:30.

In the near future, you will be able to order electronically on the Web site.

For the 2009/2010 school year, SCVi has chosen a school lunch program that will provide hot, mostly organic, and healthy lunches to our students for $3.50 per lunch.

Our vendor, Royal Dining Catering, will bring lunch every day and provide a server to serve the meals to our students and staff.  Students have the ability to pay through a point-of-sale computerized system with a "PIN" number, so they do not have to necessarily bring cash with them every day, and parents can pre-order lunches and fill their students' accounts online ahead of time.

Royal Dining Catering currently provides school lunches to thousands of students and many charter schools in Los Angeles.  They have made a commitment to our school to follow the food guidelines as described in the SCVi Health and Wellness Policy.  One Thursday per month, they have also arranged to design a special meal to showcase the food for our International Day festivities.

At this time, we are not part of the free and reduced-priced National Lunch Program, but we hope to be in the future.
