Language Coordinator / CELDT District Coordinator
Elsa is proud to be in her third year with SCVi. She has worked with students in kindergarten through fifth grade since 2000, teaching second through fifth grade for six of those years in private centers. She has also tutored high school foreign language students at several private schools. Besides serving as language coordinator, this year Elsa adds CELDT district coordinator and IB coordinator for the Diploma Program to her SCVi responsibilities. She has a BA in English literature and has completed graduate studies in linguistics. While Elsa was born in California, her family is native to El Salvador. Elsa lives in Castaic with her husband and son. She works to inspire all of her students with her passion for literature and education.
Spanish Language / Culture Facilitator
Sonia is honored to join the SCVi family for her second year. She is currently facilitating Spanish language and culture in multiple grades. She has worked with children and adolescents in educational settings for more than 10 years. Sonia double majored in psychology and child and adolescent development at California State University, Northridge. She graduated with her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Hope International University in Fullerton. She completed her clinical training at Azusa Pacific University, Community Counseling Center, where she worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
